Children and foster parents of Familia celebrated “Raksha Bandhan” with joy and happiness.

The chaste bond of love between a brother and a sister is one of the deepest and noblest of human emotions. ‘Raksha Bandhan’is a special occasion to celebrate this emotional bonding by tying a holy thread around the wrist.

Students and teachers of Familia School tied ‘RAKHI’ around others'(boys to girls & girls to boys) wrists.

We had “DAY OF SCIENCE” on 18 August 2013. It was organised by Christoph Wagener & Rupa Wagener along with the foster parents of Familia.Children had a wonderful oppertunity to do experiments (learn by doing).

Xena Bage(Age-12): “I enjoyed the ‘Day of Science’. There were many things to learn from those activities. I could see paper lotus blooming by itself on water. I could make colours spread on paper with the help of water. I could make a toy car move with the help of a balloon behind it. It was a great fun.”
Sanchita Sarkar(Age-9): “I was excited and curious to learn by doing many experiments”
Sayantani Murmu (Age-8): “Day was wonderful and useful.”
Rani Khatun: ” On the Day of Science we did many experiments. The solar fan was made by Moumita, Christoph and me. The large balloon was the first experiments made by all on the field. We took many photos. After that we started all our games. The paper lotus was blooming on water. With the help of coffee filter tissue paper we spread the colour on it. The fan we made for wind energy was a nice one. A circuit was made to pass electricity in a circular manner. It was a nice day. We enjoyed it and gave an evaluation in the evening that day. A large surprise gift was kept for us. There was a big box with a lock. All the guardians one by one tried to unlock the box but couldn’t succeed. Mother (Kavita) tried at last and was successful. There was a big keyboard (Casio) inside it. Thanks to Christoph and Rupa for their wonderful musical gift.”

Morning Star College, Barrackpore organised an Inter-School Cultural Competitions on 15 August 2013. Our students participated in a few items. They won 3rd prize for an Essay Writing and a Group Dance.Congratulations to all the participants.

Familia celebrated it’s 36th Anniversary of Foundation Day with joy and gratitude. The programme started with the Holy Eucharistic celebration by Fr.Varghese,TOR, the Parish Priest. Children of Familia entertained everyone with a short cultural programme. Familia sincerely remembers and thanks all the sponsors, well wishers and friends. MOST WELCOME TO FAMILIA.
